Marco Kyris was born on October 14, 1961 and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Born of Greek descent in a working class family, Marco had, as many people do, aspirations to become a successful actor. First, however, he would spend a dozen years in the restaurant business, working from waiting tables to managing in Toronto, Paris, and Los Angeles and learning French along the way (but always staying true to his Greek roots culturally).
Continuously torn between life in Canada and America, Marco finally decided to move to Los Angeles to pursure an acting career.
After many years of growing frustration with the business and the shallowness and showiness of Los Angeles, Marco returned to Toronto to regroup and seek other business adventures. It was then that Marco stumbled into a gig as stand-in for Nicolas Cage.
Film after film, Marco took the opportunity to work for the established actor, which led to a remarkable 10 years with Mr. Cage. During this term, Marco learned a tremendous amount about moviemaking, actors, and production. His 10 years as a working stand-in served in many ways as a hands-on schooling experience (with the perks of salary and becoming a working, successful actor), working year after year with the finest directors, actors, and production teams in the world.
Currently, Marco has stepped off the show business train to concentrate on new businesses and a career in Toronto outside of the movie business.
